Carl Consigny

Carl Consigny practices primarily in civil and commercial litigation, particularly in the areas of contracts, obligations, and extraordinary remedies. His practice also includes judicial review and appeals before the Quebec Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court of Canada. A member of the Quebec Bar since 2014, he is known for his rigorous and structured approach to the law, based on precise legal analysis and strong arguments.
Before joining Savonitto & Associates, Mr. Consigny gained diverse experience in legal and public institutions. Notably, he served as legal counsel to the Legal and Legislative Affairs Branch of the National Assembly of Quebec, where he drafted legal opinions, participated in the drafting of bills, and handled various access-to-information issues. He also served as a research lawyer at the Quebec Court of Appeal, working with the Honourable François Pelletier, collaborating on the analysis of complex cases and drafting legal opinions for the Court.
A graduate of Université Laval with a Bachelor of Laws degree, Mr. Consigny also completed a graduate microprogram in legislative drafting at the same university, allowing him to develop particular expertise in legislative drafting and legal analysis. In his practice, he places great importance on rigor and intellectual honesty in preparing cases.
